ABOUT CAMPMED: VHC Health and Northern Virginia Community College offer CampMed, a week-long camp with hands-on activities for middle school students who are interested in healthcare. Students will interact with a wide variety of professionals who work in healthcare.

All activities are "hands-on" and may include topics in surgery, emergency medicine, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology and much more. One of the days during the week of camp, campers travel by shuttle bus to the Medical Education Campus of Northern Virginia Community College in Springfield for activities which may include crime scene management and investigation, CPR, and pathology.

CampMed Hours: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm daily. Students must be dropped off and picked up on time. Before and after care are NOT available.

STUDENTS:

Students who wish to participate should have an interest in a healthcare career. During camp, students are responsible for adhering to camp guidelines, enthusiastically participating in every activity, asking lots of questions, and being responsible for their personal belongings.

PARENTS:

Parents are responsible for completing all required forms on time, completing the orientation materials with their camper, providing on-time transportation to and from camp each day, engaging their camper in discussions about camp experiences.

FINANCIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:

CampMed’s onetime fee of $600 is due by  Friday, May 1st. A limited amount of partial scholarships are available for those in financial need. Inquire if needed. Payment in three monthly installments may be requested if needed. 

No refunds for CampMed will be issued after Wednesday, July 1st. 

A Forms Packet will be sent and must be completed by Friday, May 1st.

Failure to adhere with the dates listed above will result in forfeiting the camper’s slot in camp.
